GEL-FIX™ for PAG and Agarose
for casting of flat bed gels
GEL-FIX™ for PAG and agarose is a support film for casting horizontal gels. The 0.18 mm thick polyester film is activated on both sides and covalently binds the casted gel layer. The gel adheres to the GEL-FIX™ film not only during electrophoresis, but also during all subsequent staining and fixation procedures without shrinking, swelling or tearing. For storage, the film-bound gel can be air-dried at room temperature. GEL-FIX™ is transparent to UV light above 310 nm.

SERVALYT™
Ampholytes for IEF Gels
Carrier ampholytes are zwitterionic molecules with a low molecular weight. They are produced synthetically and comprise a variety of different pI values. In gels containing ampholytes, a linear pH gradient is established when an electric field is applied. To achieve good separation of protein bands in isoelectric focusing, stable pH gradients with extensive and uniform buffering capacity are required. Good ampholyte mixtures include low molecular weight species with different pI values that contribute to conductivity, an important criterion to achieve reliable results and excellent reproducibility. For optimal resolution, the pI range can be varied to adjust the slope of the pH gradient along the separation path.
